Well this week I lost overall the same as last week - .8kg or 1.76 lb. But I actually lost 1.2kg (2.6 lb) of fat! That's because I've gained .3kg (.6 lb) of water. How frustrating! To know my total SHOULD be showing a loss of 2.6 pounds and only getting to claim 1.76. Ah well, these are the breaks I guess. I can say I'm down 11.1kg overall (24.47 lb) in the seven weeks I've been eating this way.
I shouldn't be surprised, I'm in the lead up to that time of the month when I gain water, so what I'm going to focus on this week is that 2.6 pounds of FAT that's gone. I think that's fantastic, so I am calling this a good week. :)
Marc made a very kind comment on my last post that I seem more upbeat since starting Dr Poon's program and that it's affected my attitude which comes through in my writing. How very nice of you, Marc, thank you! My response was that it was partly due to controlling my insulin levels. It's true, I used to get hungry again within an hour or so of eating, sometimes ravenously so, and I would beat myself up over it, wondering what was wrong with me. Well now I know - what was wrong with me was insulin was wreaking havoc on my life, and now I've taken back control.
I now find I'm satisfied for hours by my meals, and that's such a wonderful, freeing feeling! I do think I have a more positive outlook during my normal day-to-day activities now, whether at work or home, and I'm hoping to share more of that with you all. I'll still talk about my weight loss of course, that's why I'm here - and share recipes because when I started this plan I remember scouring the web to find Dr Poon recipes, so I'd love to keep my favorites all in one place and hopefully help someone else just starting out. But I also hope to share more about the benefits to my daily life in general, not just my weight. For now, I'm just going to kick back and enjoy the long weekend. Monday is Labour Day here in New South Wales - strangely different states in Australia celebrate Labour Day at different times of the year. Some in March or May, but we celebrate it in October. Three day weekends - gotta love 'em. I think I'll crank up the jukebox and spend some time in the game room today - anyone up for some Pinball or Pacman?
